School Coordinator Appreciation Week!

Thank you to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for the Proclamation that made last week the time to celebrate the incredible work of community school coordinators across the state!
As you can see, we LOVE our team that shows up each day with heart - committed to making a difference for students and families in our community.
Some Site Coordinators shared what motivates them to do this work. It was also a lot of fun to receive notes of appreciation from their students.

Luis Burrola is in his SIXTH year as the Communities In Schools Site Coordinator at Ortiz Middle School.
"What I love about my job is the opportunity to make my community a better place for the next generation. My goal is to be the adult for these kids that I needed when I was their age."

Communities In Schools Site Coordinator Andel Trujillo has been at Salazar Elementary School for SEVEN years!
"I LOVE being a champion for kids by making sure they know that I see them, I will help provide opportunities for them to achieve their goals, and I will always encourage and believe in them."

Sinte Torrez, Communities In Schools Site Coordinator for SEVEN years is pictured here with one of his student buddies at Capital High School.
"I love getting to know my students as people and individuals. These guys are finding their skills and their passions and it is inspiring to watch them grow into their abilities!"

"Miss Yesi, I like (when) I went to your classroom and I felt comfortable to let something off my chest. From Anthony"
