Gratitude to the Santa Fe Community!

Communities In Schools Site Coordinator, Blanca Ortiz at Nava Elementary School helping to ensure students in her school stay warm this winter!

"Thank you for the coat." Axel

As winter approaches, Communities In Schools Site Coordinators are ensuring that students in their schools have adequate outerwear to stay warm this winter! On behalf of all the elementary school students that will benefit from these coats, we would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Lisa Hendrix. Every year, Lisa coordinates a coat drive with her friends. This year, with the help of more than 25 friends, over 140 colorful coats were collected. Their generosity continues as her "team" is now also helping to collect winter hoodies for middle school students. Thank you, Lisa. We are so GRATEFUL!

While the Winter Coat Drive is still taking place for middle schools, we also wish to thank First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe for sponsoring Capital High School, St. Michael's High School for sponsoring Milagro Middle School and TOKo Santa Fe for sponsoring Ortiz Middle School. The combined support from all of these endeavors will benefit over 300 students!
