Announcing the Class of 2021 Carson Society Honorees

Each school year, Communities In Schools Site Coordinators nominate students to the Carson Honor Society and an awards committee reviews the entries. Students selected to the Society have demonstrated exceptional ambition, perseverance, compassion and resiliency.

This year, Communities In Schools was thrilled to recognize five students for this distinction!

In 2020, The Carson Honor Society was created by Communities In Schools of New Mexico. In recognition of our founders, Bill and Georgia Carson, for their exceptional dedication to education, this award celebrates high school seniors served by Communities In Schools. Along with this recognition, students also receive a cash gift, and their name on the Carson Honor Society plaque that will be on display at Capital High School.

Site Coordinator, Thomas "Sinte" Torrez comments, "Together with my colleagues, we have supported this class since their freshman year. We have worked side by side to overcome challenges, pursue their goals and to celebrate student accomplishments. We are so proud of these five Carson Society Honorees!"
