Brrrr.....its cold outside!

As we approach the holidays and students are about to go on winter break, Communities In Schools of New Mexico (CISNM) has been busy checking our lists, and checking them twice....to make sure students in need have a warm winter coat, shoes, and for our neediest students, a gift from our CISNM Giving Trees.

THANKS to our individual donors who generously contributed new winter coats in anticipation of a cold winter season. CISNM distributed over 1000 winter coats and hoodies across the ten Santa Fe Public Schools that CISNM serves. And to "top off" our efforts to keep students warm, a big THANK YOU to Miriam's Well knitting store (and their customers) for donating beautiful, and warm, hand-knitted winter hats!

The Rotary Club of Santa Fe has provided the Communities In Schools/Rotary Club Shoe Fund with a "shoe budget" to outfit 100 students - warm and dry feet are vital to help students stay warm and healthy during the winter season.

This week, our Site Coordinators will be passing out 300 presents that have been provided by generous individual and community sponsors who have graciously collected gifts for our Giving Tree Project. Students that are not likely to otherwise receive a gift this season will feel remembered and receive a present to take home for the holidays!

Thank you to our community Giving Tree and Holiday Sponsors! You have helped bring some sparkle and joy to these children this holiday season!
