School's Out for Site Coordinators!

Now that school is out, our site coordinators will be taking a well-deserved break for the summer. They've worked tirelessly throughout the year, advocating for students who faced a wide array of challenges in school and at home. For some, it was academic or attendance struggles that led them to CIS; for others, it was hunger or housing instability; and for others still, it was abuse, neglect, or the deportation of a parent. The consistent presence and guidance of a caring adult in the life of a child who faces such overwhelming challenges can greatly influence long-term personal and educational outcomes. It is CIS' goal to place site coordinators in each of Santa Fe's under-served schools, providing a continuum of support for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our site coordinators have a tremendous capacity for caring, connecting with the community, and providing a component of stability in the lives of the children and families they serve. CIS is honored to have such an incredible team of professionals dedicated to carrying out this life-changing work within the community.
They will return in August when school starts up again, and we'll look forward to following their progress in the new school year, and to sharing new photos and stories with the community. Meanwhile, the administrative staff will be diligently working away through the summer months to carry on with community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and resource development.
