FUNDER SPOTLIGHT:
ANCHORUM ST. VINCENT

Anchorum St. Vincent Foundation is a Community Health Impact Organization that is reimagining health and well-being in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico. Founded in 2008, Anchorum St. Vincent began when CHRISTUS Health System purchased a 50% interest in St. Vincent Hospital. Since then, Anchorum has been actively providing grants to regional nonprofits in support of improving our community’s social determinants of health.

Anchorum St. Vincent notes that "Anchorum is proud of our partnership with Communities In Schools of New Mexico (CIS) for many reasons. One of the most exciting is the outcomes from a third-party evaluation report CIS shared with us in June of 2020. In partnership with the University of New Mexico Center for Social Policy, CIS conducted an evaluation of their use of Anchorum funds and the impact of their programing."

“It was amazing to have data to prove what we already knew to be true, the way CIS does what they do works and changes outcomes for children, families, and schools they partner with."

—Jerry Jones, Anchorum St. Vincent President and CEO.

"CIS is deeply aligned with Anchorum strategies to address the social determinants of health," the foundation adds. "We understand that the unique support CIS Site Coordinators provide to children and their families builds transformational trust in life and educational success. Because CIS services are school based, the volunteers and site coordinators can leverage their close working relationships with children and families to improve outcomes for student’s individual goals, and food insecurity while also having an impact on high school graduation rates."

Thank you, Anchorum, for your generous and longstanding support of our students, families and schools.

Thank you to all our funders for supporting our mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
